LOST ANIMAL TRAPPING

At Gotcha Recovery & Rescue, we utilize specially designed humane traps and employ proven techniques to capture pets without causing them harm. We meticulously bait and monitor traps to ensure each animal's safety and minimize stress. Once a pet is safely contained, we act swiftly to reunite them with their family or transport them to an appropriate facility for care.

Pet trapping is central to our operations, enabling us to recover animals in situations where direct pursuit or approach would exacerbate fear or create danger. Our extensive experience allows us to interpret animal behavior, set traps effectively, and return pets home with compassion and expertise. We don't always need to use traps. Sometimes, we are able to just spend time gaining their trust to capture. This approach allows us to connect with the animals on a personal level, building confidence and reducing stress during the recovery process. PURPOSE OF TRAPPING:

• To recover lost pets who have run away, slipped out of a collar, or become frightened (e.g., after moving, due to fireworks, storms, or accidents).

• To safely capture strays who may be too fearful for people to approach.

• To prevent injury to the animal, owner, or bystanders.

WHY IT'S NEEDED:

Pets in survival mode typically will not respond to calls. Even the most affectionate dog or cat can exhibit "feral" behavior when frightened . Trapping avoids hazardous situations, such as chasing them onto highways or into wooded areas.
